This Saturday is the Fontana 1/2 Marathon / 5K.  If you haven't been, there's people from all ages, all sizes, all athletic abilities and it's just a fun day to be with our neighbors and people from all over.  The best thing about it is, it's all downhill making it the fastest 1/2 marathon 5k around.

I don't work or volunteer for any of this, just wanna see my HR neighbors out there participating.  Maybe I'll meet some of you in person.  I'll be wearing my dark blue Nike visor, I think.. I tend to change my mind a lot.   My Brian will probably be wearing his (black) Nike hat as well.

Mayor Mark, will you be there again this year with wifee?  You guys seem to do it every year, huh?

Register and come on out for a nice warm Saturday exercise.

Most of the Nuaimi clan will be there ... for the annual tradition of sons humiliating dad.  This is great fun for all ages and if you survive the run then you can load up on pancakes at the Rotary Club pancake breakfast.

Have a great weekend!

Mayor Mark

I think this may end up being the hottest run (if what you call what I do running, it's more like stumbling  ) in Fontana I've done.  Nothing like sweating before you even start.  Oh, I'm so winey, it'll be fun.  The last one I did in Seal Beach was raining, so this will be the opposite.

So did anyone sign up?

H-O-T!!!  We were all sweating before we even started running.  But it was fun and a pretty good turnout.  I couldn't believe all the little young runners and how good they were!

Good day and I'm feelin' it today. :::creak, creak:::

OK, it's 2 months away, so you have time to think about it or get ready for it.  June 2nd.  There's the 1/2 marathon (fastest), 5K Run  and the Family Fitness Walk.

I'm trying to get my nephew's Fire Explorers to participate.  He wants his Uncle (my dh) to run the cadence calls, hee hee.  So hopefully the guy in charge of the Explorers (Nick) will get this setup, I think it'd be cool to see them out there.  Two of our Fontana Fire guys are always out there running, let's get some more!  Where's the Police?  Sgt Bloom???

And now for you Hunter's Ridge, come on get out there and get healthy.  It's a fun morning!

What great weather and a great turnout today!  MM I had some of those pancakes after too.  So you cooked for 4 hours?  Great job and those were the biggest pancakes I have ever seen.  It was so neat to see the volunteer High School kids, they were so polite and so helpful.

We had the wonderful priviledge of riding in the firetruck today in the parade, following Capt Green in the 1928 firetruck he restored, what a beauty!  Wow what a cool parade!  For those of you that have never been, try and make the effort next year.

I love our City!

I'm glad you didn't get ill from my pancakes ... it was a great day and the weather was perfect for the run.  Thanks for being such a great cheerleader for the city!

I ran the 5K on June 2nd, and have decided to run the half marathon next year. I heard that sign-ups will be available in December, but haven't seen any links yet. Has anyone seen links to sign up for the 2008 run? I figure if I sign up now, I won't be able to chicken out later.

Wow, it's scary how fast these things come up.  So you signing up for the 1/2?

I plan on pestering some more of my friends to get out there and do it.  I love the Fontana one!

Come on HR, come out and walk it, run it.. it's fun in a sick way.  Thanks for putting the link Pan!

Yes sir!  Although I haven't been running so I think I'll take it easy (I'm doing the 5k).  Put some good music on and watch everyone fly by me.  :)  Hope it's nice weather.

It's supposed to be awesome weather for this event, especially at that time of the morning. I'm really looking forward to it. This will be my first half marathon.

That's great news, Yvonne. That weather we had yesterday, cloudy and drizzly, would have been perfect. But it'll be a great day.
